I created this buttercream recipe easy for my olive oil honey cake. The frosting is super smooth and creamy and you can taste the sweet honey flavor right through.
I like to add an extra drizzle of pure honey on top of the frosting for an extra touch.

Honey Buttercream is like a basic buttercream frosting but it is infused with a sweet honey flavor. I like to use this buttercream recipe on top of my olive oil honey cake but it goes great with other cakes as well. For example it would be great on these pumpkin donuts too.

Can you make this butter cream recipe in advance?
Absolutely! This recipe is very easy to make in advance and store for when needed. Place the ready buttercream into a piping bag or ziplock bag and store sealed in the refrigerator for up to a week. When you’re ready to use the buttercream, take out of the fridge and bring down to room temperature before using.

Honey Butter Cream Recipe (easy!)
Equipment
- Mixer
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
- 2 Tablespoons honey
- 1 ½-3 Tablespoons milk
Instructions
- In the bowl of a standing mixer beat butter, confectioners sugar and honey at medium speed.
- Add in milk, 1/2 a tablespoon at a time until you get a smooth consistency.
- Spread frosting on your completely cooled cake!
